Stephen joined Connells in 1977 as a trainee negotiator at the Aylesbury branch. Aged 21, he became Manager for High Wycombe, a branch which would become the most profitable in the company under his leadership.
He was promoted through the ranks until his appointment as Connells Chief Executive in 1990 and Group Chairman in 2008. Alongside Chief Executive David Livesey and other colleagues, he was instrumental in masterminding the ground-breaking deal in 1996 when Skipton Building Society acquired a majority stake in Connells Group, with Connells’ senior management taking a 25% shareholding.
Since then, Connells Group has embarked on a number of acquisitions (Sequence, Sharman Quinney, Burchell Edwards, Peter Alan, The New Homes Group, Asset Management Group, Gascoigne Halman, Rook Matthews Sayer) and a programme of organic expansion in surveying, lettings and residential estate agency. Stephen was a founding Director of Rightmove plc and was a Rightmove board member for 10 years.
Under Stephen’s leadership, Connells Group has grown from a 100 branch estate agency with a turnover of £30m per annum into the large and diverse property services group it is today.
David joined Connells Group in 1990 as Mortgage Services Director where he developed the business's Mortgage Services model, which has subsequently been adopted by many of Connells Group’s competitors.
His property market experience has been instrumental in the creation and development of several of the Group’s businesses. He is a hands-on operator who has also strategically guided the Group to its number one position in the residential property sector.
David has been heavily involved in each business within Connells Group during his longstanding career, becoming Group CEO in 2008. Test
David joined the company in 1988 starting his career as a negotiator and mortgage consultant in one of the Group’s William H Brown branches in East Anglia.
Having performed roles at every level, he became the Chief Executive of Sequence in 2006 and then took responsibility for the whole of Connells Group’s branch network as Group Estate Agency Chief Executive in 2013.
David has overall responsibility for all the Group’s estate agency, mortgage services and lettings operations across its 1,200 strong branch network. During his tenure, Connells Group has become the market leader in the UK and sells more properties than any other estate agent.
